Rahul Gandhi say no to apologise SC, expresses his regret

NPnews24 Online: New Delhi- Congress president Rahul Gandhi facing notice for his remark has now refused to apologise. Expresses regret for his political slogan ‘chowkidar chor hai’, Gandhi in his affidavit said he had no intention of maligning court proceeding publicly.

On April 15 Top court sought Gandhi explanation on petition filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, petition initiated case of court contempt against him and sought action for his remark. While Gandhi claimed Meenakshi Lekhi was seeking political mileage.

Where, the court relieved Gandhi for making personal appearance in the case. Advocate Mukul Rohatagi appearing on behalf of Petitioner Lekhi, said ‘’Gandhi had not offered apology to the court for his ‘chowkidar chor hai’ remark and case should initiated against him, he demanded. While On other hand, senior lawyer AM Singhvi appearing on behalf of Gandhi, said “Gandhi had already express his regret for mixing up his slogan with sc rafale comments. A bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi is scheduled to hear case on April 30.
