Rahul Gandhi offer to Resign as Congress Chief, But?

Npnews24 online New Delhi: Accepting a 100 percent responsibility for “congress party defeat” in Lok Sabha election of 2019. Congress President Rahul Gandhi submits his resignation to Congress Working Committee on Saturday.

The congress, which dropped to a historic low of 44 seats in 2014, could only add eight more seats to its national tally with Rahul Gandhi’s nationwide campaign circling around his “Chowkidar Chor Hai” barb for PM Modi failing to translate into votes.

Rahul Gandhi, who lost even his traditional Amethi in Uttar Pradesh to BJP Smriti Irani, now is no more a congress president.

But all eyes on CWC whether they will accept it or not?

On the other hand, even as rumors are rife about party members may vehemently reject his offer. The Congress party is worried about what message it can send through the meeting and wants to be perceived in a genuine self-introspection mode and not indulge in tokenism.

A resolution is also likely to be passed in the meeting that may constitute a committee to do a thorough post mortem of the election results and suggest the future course of action

But Rahul resignation not accepted by CWC.
