Pune’s Sinhgad Institute professor threatens to commit suicide

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Professor of Sinhgad RMD School of Engineering, Pune has written a threatening letter to the college authorities now in which he has threatened authorities to commit suicide.

He was distressed since a long due to the fact that he was not getting salary. There have been many protests led by the victim professors earlier.

Last month, a video got viral in which a professor named Soorajmali had burnt all his degree certificates, his proofs of academic qualifications and various other important documents. Now, the same professor has threatened to end his life if he does not gets salary.

Soorajmali had confronted the college authorities about getting his salary after not getting the response which he deserved and out of frustration and anger, he set all his degree and diploma certificates ablaze.

A video of this incident spread like wildfire, but it seems that the administration was unaffected by the protests and incidents.

Now, they have been threatened by a letter by the victim professor that if he does not get his salary, then he will suicide. Along with this he had mentioned in the letter that the college and other staff members of the Institute related to it should be held responsible for it.

Notably, in Sinhagad Institute, professors of various departments in the Institute are not getting salaries and facing financial issues due to which protests will also be carried out by professors.

Lot many professors have gone into depression since last few months but seems the cases are going unnoticed as the government needs to pay serious attention to it.
