Pune: Youth Sets Himself Ablaze at Wagholi Police Chowki After Dispute (Video)

Pune: A young man from Wagholi took drastic measures after an alleged altercation, setting himself on fire at the Wagholi police chowki in Pune. The incident unfolded at 11 a.m. today, sending shockwaves through the community. The victim, identified as Rohidas Ashok Jadhav, aged 28 and a resident of Siddhi Apartment, Domkhel Road, Wagholi, is currently battling for his life in a nearby hospital; his condition is reported as serious.

According to police sources, Jadhav, a Wagholi resident, had been embroiled in ongoing disputes within his society, leading to frequent confrontations. However, today’s altercation took a violent turn, resulting in Jadhav being severely beaten by society residents. In a bid to seek justice, Jadhav arrived at the Wagholi police chowki to file a complaint regarding the assault.

However, the sequence of events took a tragic turn when police officials opted to file a non-cognizable case instead of pursuing criminal charges against the assailants. Frustrated and evidently distraught by the perceived lack of action by the police, Jadhav doused himself in petrol and set himself ablaze within the police station.

The swift intervention of onlookers and police personnel ensured that Jadhav was promptly rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical attention. However, the severity of his injuries underscores the gravity of the situation, with Jadhav’s condition being described as critical by medical professionals.
