Pune: Violent Clash Erupts in Two Groups in Parvati Area: Multiple Arrests Made

Pune: In Pune’s Parvati area, a dispute between two groups has escalated into a violent clash, resulting in serious injuries and arrests. The incident, which occurred in Chawl No. 100 at Parvati Darshan, involved an attack on a residence by a gang of individuals, leaving one person severely injured.

The complaint, filed by a 33-year-old resident of Parvati Darshan, Sita Nitin Shendge, details the attack on her house. The accused individuals, identified as Shubham Gejge, Shri Devendra, Ajay Chavan, Sonya Gejge, Shubham Adagale, and two others, are facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 307, 427, 143, 504, and others. The accused, with criminal records, are known to the plaintiff.

The roots of the conflict trace back to an argument between the accused and Atharva Shendge, the nephew of the complainant, two days prior to the incident. In an act of retaliation, the accused, armed with machetes, knives, and empty beer bottles, attacked the plaintiff’s house around 12:30 on Monday night with the apparent intention of harming Atharva and his uncle.

During the attack, the accused threatened to kill the complainant and even threw machetes at the victim. Fortunately, the victims managed to escape as one of the machetes hit the door. Additionally, the assailants vandalised vehicles belonging to Atharva’s household and nearby two-wheelers, rickshaws, and tempos.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the case, and they are currently being investigated by the Sub-Inspector of Police. The accused are facing charges under various acts, including the Arms Act, the Maharashtra Police Act, and the Criminal Law Amendment Act.

In a separate incident related to the same dispute, a 16-year-old minor resident of Parvati Darshan filed a complaint leading to the arrest of Nitesh Ashok Chandanashive and Rajaratan Sunil Gaikwad. The clash between the plaintiff minor and the accused, Atharva Shendge, which transpired two days ago, resulted in serious injuries. The accused individuals are facing charges under sections 324, 341, 504, 143, 147, 148, and 149 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

Both cases are under thorough investigation by the local authorities, with further details expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
