Pune: Traders federation against lockdown in the future

Pune: The members of Federation of Trade Association of Pune, have expressed their strong opposition to any further lockdown in the city. They announced that all of them have suffered enough losses already and cannot survive another round of lockdown.

Mahendra Pitaliya, secretary of Federation of Trade Association of Pune, said they suffered losses for nearly seven months after the lockdown was first imposed in March and that another lockdown will force many traders out of business.

They have said that it’s recently that the businesses have started to pick up and now if another lockdown is announced they will not be able to sustain in the market.

So far, hundreds of shops and businesses have already shut down considering the fact that they couldn’t afford to pay rent, EMIs and take care of other liabilities in the absence of any earnings.
