Pune: Prashant Hingorani of Indiana Group honoured with Udyog Ratna award at the hands of Sharad Pawar

Pune : “Coming from a small town such as Jejuri, Prashant Hingorani set up his business at a small scale and took it to the global scale through his determination and hardwork. Today this company has transformed itself into a giant player and its products are making inroads in the international market. We are very proud of this achievement,” said Sharad Pawar, the National president of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar). He was speaking after felicitating eminent industrialist and MD of Indiana Group Prashant Hingorani with the Udyog Ratna award by the Maharashtra government. The award, given by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), comprises of shawl, citation and memento. MLA Sanjay Jagtap, Dillip Barbhai and Ramdas Kute among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

In reply to the award, Prashant hingorani said, “The Indiana Group opened its first plant in Jejuri in 1990. Thereafter, we helped to bring Jejuri on the manufacturing map of India through excellent quality products and tremendous hard work. Today, ‘Made in Jejuri’ products are exported all over the world including United States and Europe. I accept this award humbly as a token of the work that I have done in the industrial sector. I look at it as an appreciation of my work.”

Speaking about his industry, Hingorani said, “The Indiana Group was formed in 1990 and it has established itself as a prominent and leading supplier in the infrastructure sector. We are focused on the projects in oil and gas, energy, petrochemicals, refineries, processing, steel and other primary sectors. Today, the group verticals include high quality steel structures, electro forged gratings, cable tray and support systems, safety hand rails, primary and secondary heavy, medium and light fabricated structures and bulk material handling systems.”

He said that Indiana has always endeavoured for excellence. We have tried to influence the society and environment positively by maintaining highest quality possible in our products and service.

We have engaged ourselves actively in many CSR initiatives to drive community development especially in Jejuri. Clean water, cleanliness, health service and education are our main areas of concentration. Indiana group has constructed many toilets for girls’ schools, has donated solar lamps, provided ambulances and installed tree guards, he said.

In addition, during his speech after receiving the award, Prashant Hingorani donated Rs. 2 lakh for the vaccine against cancer.
