Pune police team visits labour settlements to guide women and girls

PUNE: Pune Police News |  The ACP of Hadapsar Division, Ashwini Rakh, said that if any untoward incident or violence takes place against girls and women, they should immediately inform the police. The police will take legal action against the concerned people. She also assured women that legal action will be taken.

 

The police interacted with women and girls in labour settlements like Sasane Colony, Bhoi Aali, Renuka Mata Temple, Gairan Vasti located in Keshav Nagar area in the limits of Mundhwa police station on Wednesday. ACP Ashwini Rakh guided women and girls about the precautions to be taken concerning their safety.

 

Sr PI of Mundhwa police station Vishnu Tamhane, police officers and policemen carried out patrolling in heavy rain. ACP Ashwini Rakh is the first senior police officer in Pune to do patrolling on foot with other staff.

 

ACP Ashwini Rakh said, “Women should not get scared if any injustice is done to them and they should come forward and they should remember about ‘Nari Shakti’. They should oppose any wrongdoing and make proper use of social media and should not believe in rumours.” She also advised women about preventing disputes at home.

 

ACP Rakh informed the woman and girls about misdeeds happening with children and gave an assurance that legal action will be taken against the concerned people.

 

She gave information about good touch and bad touch and gave information about various initiatives started by the police like Police Kaka, Police Didi, Buddy Cop and Damini Squads.
Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma had given instructions that police officers and policemen should meet women and girls and create a sense of security.

 

 

Accordingly, under the guidance of DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, ACP Ashwini Rakh, Sr PI Vishnu Tamhane, API Sameer Karpe, PSI Shivaji Kate, policemen Tanaji Deshmukh, Nilesh Pavle, Navnath Kokne, Sachin Borate, policewomen Sheetal Kale and Shubhangi Taru met the women and girls. ACP Ashwini Rakh thanked the police commissioner and the police department.
