Pune : Pune PMC News | The Pune Municipal Corporation has taken a progressive step towards inclusivity by offering job opportunities to ten transgender individuals as security guards. Tanushree Bhosale, who previously worked as a security guard under the name Shubham Bhosale, underwent sex reassignment surgery to transition from male to female. However, she faced uncertainty about her future. The Pune Municipal Corporation has now provided a solution by employing ten transgender individuals as security guards.
Five of the appointed transgenders will work in the main building of the Municipal Corporation, while the other five will be stationed in various other offices across the city. Many transgenders struggle to find employment opportunities due to discrimination and prejudices. As a result, some are forced to engage in unlawful activities to earn a livelihood. This unfair generalization affects the entire transgender community.
