Pune News | Trekker Succumbs to Heart Attack During Maval to Bhimashankar Trek in Pune

Pune: Pune News | In a tragic incident, a trekker from Pimpri Chinchwad, Ramesh Patil, suffered a heart attack during a trek from Maval to Bhimashankar in Pune. Despite the best efforts of his colleagues to save him, Patil could not be revived.

The trek was organized by a group of trekkers from Pune and commenced from Malegaon Budruk in Maval taluka on Sunday morning. The participants were mesmerized by the enchanting beauty of the lush green forests, thick mist, and cascading waterfalls along the way. However, the joyful journey took an unfortunate turn when Ramesh Patil suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed near Gupt Bhimashankar in Khed taluka around 2:30 PM.

His fellow trekkers immediately rushed to his aid, trying to wake him up, but Patil remained unresponsive. Realizing the severity of the situation, some attempted to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, hoping to revive him. An ambulance was called for assistance, but it would have been too late. Fearing the worst, the group carried Patil near the Bhimashankar temple.

The Ghodegaon police were alerted about the incident, and they swiftly arranged for Patil to be transported to a rural hospital in Taleghar. However, the efforts to save his life were in vain, as the doctor at the hospital pronounced him dead upon arrival.
