Pune: Man imprisoned for 5 years for sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter

Pune: A single bench headed by Special Judge G. P. Agarwal sentenced a 46-year-old man to five years of rigorous labor and fined Rs 3,000 for sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter. The court ordered if the victim fails to pay the fine, he will face one more month of imprisonment.

The incident took place from April 2014 to June 14, 2014. The girl’s mother had lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. According to the police, the plaintiff lives with her husband and 3 children in the Kothrud area of Pune. The plaintiff felt the difference in the father’s treatment towards her youngest daughter. Upon questioning her daughter, she said her father had sexually assaulted her at night when the plaintiff was not at home.

Upon realizing the whole scenario, the plaintiff lodged a complaint with the police with the help of an NGO. The case was heard by Additional Public Prosecutor Sunil More on behalf of the plaintiff party. He examined three witnesses.
