Pune: Illegal Spa Centre Busted for Running Prostitution Ring in Pimpri-Chinchwad; Spa Manager Arrested (Video)

Pune: Within 4 days of its crackdown on the prostitution racket in Pimpri-Chinchwad city, the Anti-Human Traffic Cell of the Pune Crime Branch (PCB) has once again taken decisive action against one more illegal spa centre in Wakad, which was running a prostitution racket under the guise of a spa and massage centre.

For the past few days, the police team has become aware of such illegal activities in the city and started taking action against them. The latest action was taken by the dedicated team of the crime branch at Presting Square Mall in Wakad Police Station on Monday, April 8.

Earlier, the team of the Anti-Human Traffic Cell of the Pune Crime Branch received a tip-off about the running of an illegal prostitution racket at THE REESE SPA in Presting Square Mall in the Shankar Kalate Nagar area. After confirming the authenticity of the news, police raided the location and found three young women engaged in prostitution.

Subsequently, police arrested Spa Manager Umesh, alias Aniket Indrajit Dubey, a resident of Capital Building, Baner Village, Pune, and rescued all three young women who were forced into this profession. The police also lodged a complaint against a female spa owner on the basis of a complaint filed by female police constable Vaishnavi Vijay Gawade.

During the interrogation, police found that the accused was forcing these women to do this work by alluring them of large monetary gains. Shockingly, police also found that the spa owner and its manager are meeting their livelihoods with this money.

In the police action, police seized cash worth Rs 12,000 from the scene. Police registered a case against the woman spa owner under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of IPC 370(3) and 34 of the Prevention of Immoral Trade Act, 1956, at Wakad Police Station and further detained the accused spa manager.

Wakad police are conducting further investigation into it.
