Pune: DCP R Raja suspends four policemen from Loni Kalbhor Police Station

Pune: Four policemen attached with the Loni Kalbhor Police Station have been suspended for selling impounded and unclaimed vehicles.

DCP (Zone-5) R Raja issued an order in this regard on Monday. Dayanand Dashrath Gaikwad, Santosh Shankar Andure, Tukaram Sadashiv Pandhare and Rajesh Manoj Darade have been suspended from the police force.

They have been charged with misuse of their position and indulging in illegal activities while on duty. They sold two-wheelers and four-wheelers impounded by the Loni Kalbhor Police for personal benefit and financial gain.

On inquiry, it was found that they received Rs 4.60 lakh from time to time by selling the vehicles. They have also been charged with remaining absent from duty without taking due permission from their seniors.

The suspension order stated that the conduct of the policemen was not in conformity with the discipline of the police department and was serious, irresponsible and criminal. Hence, they have been suspended.

The order stated that they would not leave the headquarters during the suspension period without the permission of the DCP’s office. They also have to report to the State Reserve Police Force Headquarters daily during the suspension period.
