Traffic policeman attacked with sickle at Katraj Chowk

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | A traffic policeman who had gone to mediate in a dispute over a minor incident was attacked with a sickle and received serious injuries at Katraj Chowk. (Pune Crime)

 

The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have arrested Kaif Arif Shaikh (18), a resident of Santosh Nagar, Katraj. An attempt to murder case has been filed against his friends Aman Mulla, Sanket and another aide.

 

Pritam Madhav Lonkar (30), a resident of Lonkar building, Katrajgaon has filed a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The incident at Hotel Ganesh at Katraj Chowk on Thursday at 8 pm.

 

According to the police, the complainant Pritam Lonkar had gone to drink tea with his friends at Hotel Ganesh. When he was parking his vehicle, a boy argued with him and abused him. He called his other friends. Aman Mulla and Sanket held Lonkar’s hands. Kaif tried to hit Lonkar with a sickle. It hit him on the index finger and he was hurt.

 

Constable Manoj Badade, who was regulating the traffic, saw this incident and came there. Kaif assaulted Badade on his hand and injured him.

 

The police have arrested Kaif Shaikh and PI Yadav is probing the case.
