Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta takes action against criminal gang under MCOCA for spreading terror in Bibvewadi area
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta is taking action against various criminal gangs by using MCOCA. CP Gupta has taken action under MCOCA against criminals Ganesh Baban Jagdale, Gaurav Vasant Buge, Shubham Praksh Rokde, Rohit Vijay Avchare, Rohan Raju Londhe, Saurabh Dattu Sarvade, Aksh Surajnath Sahani, Rishikesh Vitthal Salunkhe, Anis Farooq Sayyed, Akash Suresh Shilimpur, Baba alias Aditya Sanjay Nalawade, Ajay Kalidas Akhade and Kunal Ravi Gaikwad who were spreading terror in the limits of Bibvewadi police station. The police chief has taken action against 74 gangs so far and 11 gangs this year under MCOCA. (Pune Crime)
The accused Ganesh Jagdale and 12 of his friends were chatting on February 6 at midnight at Shiv Shankar Society in Bibvewadi. The complainant was talking with his friends in the nearby area. The accused with his friends, who were armed with sharp weapons, abused the complainant. Saurabh Sarvade fired two rounds from his pistol and tried to kill the complainant. He and his friends created terror in the area by brandishing sickles, wooden rods and pistol. The police have arrested the accused and seized the weapons.
A case under the Arms Act had been filed against accused Ganesh Jagdale and his 12 aides at the Bibvewadi police station. At present, the accused are at Yerwada central jail and a proposal to take action against the gang under MCOCA was prepared by PI Anita Hivarkar and was submitted through DCP Namrata Patil to Addl CP Namdev Chavan. Since Chavan has given his approval, action has been taken against the accused under MCOCA.
Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has taken strict measures against criminals after becoming the police chief. He has taken action against criminal gangs who spread terror in the city under MCOCA.
Under his guidance, till now, action has been taken against 74 criminal gangs so far and 11 gangs this year.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including Senior PI Sunil Jhaware, PI Anita Hivarkar, API Pravin Kalukhe, PSI Vikrant Dige, Assistant Police Constable RG Barbole from the surveillance team, policemen Ganesh Dudhane, Patil, Daivat Shedge and Anil Dolse under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Jt CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Namdev Chavan, DCP Namrata Patil and ACP Rajendra Galande.
