Owner of Sun Life Packers & Movers, Dhareshwar Packers & Movers, three others booked, one arrested for demanding ransom

Pune : NpNews24 Online –  Pune Crime | Sun Life Packers & Movers, Dhareshwar Packers & Movers owner and three others were booked for not delivering household luggage taken from Pune to Mumbai at the destination address and for demanding a ransom.

 

The accused demanded Rs 5,000 more for reporting the location of the tempo carrying the luggage. They also threatened to damage the luggage, if extra money was not paid. Abhinav Avinash Varma (30), a resident of Mundhwa, lodged a complaint in this regard.

 

Tempo driver Ramdas Shelar, Vijay Patil, Ashvin Raghunath Raikar (27), a resident of Dhayari Gaon, have been booked while Raikar has been arrested.

 

According to the police, Abhinav Varma asked Sun Life Packers & Movers, Dhareshwar Packers & Movers to shift his household luggage to his Mumbai residence. The firms loaded his household luggage valued at Rs 9.10 lakh on a tempo at 4 pm on January 29. The luggage was not delivered the next day at the Mumbai address. So, Varma sought to know the location of the tempo. The company demanded Rs 5,000 more for informing the location of the tempo. He was threatened that if he failed to pay the extra amount, his luggage would be damaged and then he would not get his luggage.

 

Varma approached the Mundhwa police, who registered a cheating and extortion offence. PSI Bhosale is investigating under the guidance of Senior PI Brahmanand Naikwadi.
