Pune Crime News | Wanawadi police arrest two youths for snatching gold chains

PUNE : Pune Crime News | The Wanawadi police have arrested two persons for stealing gold chains and have seized items worth ₹1 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Udayan Deepak Oval (24), a resident of Wagholi and Aakash Suresh Waghire (20), a resident of Shivaji Nagar. On Jully 10, 2023, the complainant was going home after a morning walk with her friend. When both of them reached the road opposite Mathurawala garden, the accused had forcefully taken away her chain. An FIR of a robbery has been registered at the police station.

The police checked the footage from 100 CCTVs at the spot and at Patil Estate Shivaji Nagar. When they were questioned, they admitted committing the crime. The police have seized a gold chain of 15 gm and a two-wheeler used in the crime totally worth ₹1 lakh.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, ACP Shahuraje Salve by Sr PI Bhausaheb Patare, PI Vivek Patankar, PSI Santosh Sonawane, Havaldar Amjad Pathan, Haridas Kadam, Atul Gaikwad, policeman Amol Gaikwad, Santosh Naik, Nilkanth Rathod, Yatin Bhosle and policewoman Sonam Bhagat in taking the action.
