Pune Crime News | FIR registered against two businessmen for hunting leopard-like animal and hiding body parts in farm house

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | A shocking incident has come to light wherein a leopard-like animal was hunted and the body parts were hidden in a farm house at Mandvi Budruk adjacent to the Khadakwasla dam. The Forest Department raided the farm house and seized the claws and nails. An FIR has been registered against Vishwajeet Jadhav and Abhijeet Jadhav under various sections of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and the Indian Forest Act, 1927. (Pune Crime News)

The daughter of a famous hotelier informed the Forest Department that the concerned persons had hunted a leopard and had hidden its body parts in the Shetty farm house in the limits of Mandvi Khurd village adjacent to the Khadakwasla dam.

After receiving information, Deputy Conservator of Forests Mahadev Mohite and Assistant Conservator of Forests Deepak Pawar guided Bhamburda Forest Range Officer Pradeep Sankpal, Donje Forest Range Officer Sachin Sapkal and other employees raided the farm house.

While examining the farm house, the officials found that the nails and claws of a leopard-like animal had been kept in a cloth in a cupboard. Other areas were also searched but they did not find any other animal parts.

An FIR has been registered against Vishwajeet Jadhav and Abhijeet Jadhav and both are absconding. Bhamburda Forest Range Officer Pradeep Sankpal is carrying out a probe.

A member of the Wildlife Rescue Team Tanaji Bhosle said the accused is a notorious hunter. There is a possibility that he may have hunted many other animals and hence, it is necessary to carry out a detailed probe, Bhosle said.
