Pune: In a shocking incident in Pune a auto-rickshaw driver along with his two accomplices beat up and robbed an engineer of Rs 1.68 lakh. The Bharti Vidyapeeth police station has registered a case against the auto driver and his two accomplices after the afraid engineer lodged a complaint.

As per the information provided by police officials the complainant Nand Kumar Wagh (40) a resident of Gaikmukh Chowk in Ambegaon works as a design engineer in a company at Pisoli. He travels daily to and fro from auto. On Thursday, 20 July Wagh alighted at Katraj bus stop by rickshaw from Khadi Mashin chowk. While he was waiting for another rickshaw to go to Ambegaon a person approached him. He took Wagh to a rickshaw parked in front of the bus stop and told him that he would drop him to Ambegaon. Two people were already sitting in the auto and Wagh became the third. The auto driver started the auto and in the middle of the road the auto driver and his two accomplices started beating Wagh.”

Police further added, ” One of the accused started threatening Wagh to give his gold chain and the money in his pocket to them otherwise they would kill him. When Wagh protested the accused forcefully removed the chain from his neck and also took the bag containing laptop and charger from him in front of the Rajveer Hotel and threw Wagh from the auto and ran away. Wagh got a shock after this incident and he did not file a complaint because he was afraid. After the insistence of his boss, Wagh lodged a complaint . Bharti Vidyapeeth police station assistant sub-inspector Vaibhav Gaikwad is investigating the matter.”
