Pune Crime News | Arrest of two terrorists: State ATS arrests fifth accused in Pune

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | The State ATS arrested one more accused on Tuesday for his alleged links with the two terrorists who were arrested in Kothrud. Earlier, four people had been arrested. (Pune Crime News)

The fifth accused has been identified as Zulfiqar Ali Badodawala, a resident of Padgah, Thane district. He was in the custody of the National Investigative Agency (NIA). He has been apprehended for questioning with the permission of the court.
The Pune police had arrested Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yusuf Khan (23) and Mohammad Yusuf Mohammad Yakub Saki (24), both residents of Kondhwa. Both the terrorists hail from Madhya Pradesh and are absconding accused in the Jaipur bomb blast conspiracy case.

The ATS had earlier seized a drone, photographs of sensitive places and 500 GB data from a laptop from the Kondhwa residence of the accused. Later, the ATS had seized a chemical used in making the bombs and laboratory equipment during its investigation.

The ATS had arrested Abdul Qadir Dastagir Pathan (32), a resident of Kondhwa for sheltering the terrorists and Simab Nasruddin Kazi (27) for providing financial help. Now, Zulfiqar Badodawala has been arrested.

The NIA had arrested four accused on June 28, 2023 for acting as per orders of ISIS and Badodawala was one of them.
NIA had recently arrested Dr Adnan Ali Sarkar for links with the state ISIS module. It is being said that Zulfikar is a close aide of Adnan Ali. Hence, this has strengthened the suspicion about the connection between terrorists held in Pune and ISIS.
