Pune Crime News | 1,800 criminals checked, 159 arrested in Pune Police’s ‘Operation All Out’

Pune : Pune Crime News | The Pune Police conducted the ‘Operation All Out’ campaign in the backdrop of growing criminal cases in the city. The police checked 1,882 people with a criminal background. Cops visited the areas where these goons stay. Out of these, 639 history sheeters were found to be staying at their original addresses. As many as 159 criminals were held under the Arms Act and Public Gambling Act.

 

Some crimes took place in the city in the recent past. They included damaging vehicles parked on the roads and terrorising residents in areas such as Taljai and Warje. In this background, CP Retesh Kumaarr and Jt CP Sandeep Karnik issued orders to check criminals in the city. The police conducted a special drive from Monday midnight. The Crime Branch and squads from various police stations took part in this drive.

 

As many as 11 people were arrested for possessing illegal arms. Country-made pistols, two cartridges, sickles and swords were confiscated from them. Some mobile phone snatchers were held during the campaign. Seven people were nabbed for their involvement in fights. Three cases were registered against illegal gambling dens. As many as 13 goons, who were staying in the city even after their externment, were arrested.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Jt CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CPs Ramnath Pokale, Pravinkumar Patil and Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCPs Amol Zende, Sandeep Singh Gill, Smartana Patil, Shashikant Borare, Vikrant Deshmukh and Vijaykumar Magar.

 

Nakabandi ops at 28 places

The Pune Police conducted nakabandi operations at 28 places in the city and checked 3,282 vehicle drivers. Over 470 of them were penalised for violating traffic rules and regulations. The Traffic Police checked 1,129 vehicles.
