Pune Crime | Man held for cheating youths by promising them jobs in PMC
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A man had called many youths from Baramati area to the Pune Municipal Corporation by luring them with a promise that he will get them jobs in the PMC. On Friday afternoon, they had come for an interview. When the security guard asked them about the purpose of their visit, the youths told him that they had come for an interview. The guard told them that no interviews were scheduled. There was an argument between them. The civic administration realised that people were being called to the PMC office and cheated under the guise of providing jobs. They apprehended the imposter ‘government official’ and handed him over to the police. (Pune Crime)
The imposter has been identified as Himmatrao Balasaheb Nimbalkar (34), a resident of Peth Wadgaon, Kolhapur district.
A 27-year-old youth from Baramati has lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police station. The incident took place at Girija Hospital at Baramati, Mantralaya area in Mumbai and PMC head office from July 31 to August 19, 2022.
According to the police, Himmatrao Nimbalkar told the youths that he was working in Mantralaya. He used to move around with an identification tag of the state government. On July 31, he had told the complainant that he will get him the job of a station clerk in the Indian Railways. Later, he told him that he will get a job in the PMC and took Rs one lakh from him in the form of cash and online mode. He also told two girls and four youths that he will get them jobs in the PMC and took Rs 7 lakh and 30 thousand from them. He had called them to the PMC head office by telling them that their interviews were scheduled on Friday. The security guard stopped them and they told him that they had come for interviews. The guard informed the administration department after he became suspicious.
Civic officials realised that this appeared a cheating case and questioned Himmatrao Nimbalkar. He gave evasive replies and started running away. The security guards apprehended him and handed him over to the police. PSI Ahivale is probing the case.
