Pune crime | Three arrested for kidnapping youth and demanding ransom of Rs 20 lakh
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune crime | Three men called a youth for a meeting over the reason that he chats with a woman in the office and kidnapped him and took him to Kopargaon. They withdrew money from his account and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. He escaped from their clutches under the guise of going to the toilet. The police have arrested three people. (Pune crime)
The arrested accused have been identified as Lahu Vishnu Jadhav (29), a resident of Ahmednagar, Mahesh Bhausaheb Kotme (27), a resident of Nashik and Mangesh Manik Bhabad (37), a resident of Nashik.
A 33-year-old youth staying in Wakad has lodged a complaint at the Lonikand police station. The incident happened at Kharadi bypass on August 17.
According to the police, the complainant was chatting with a woman working in his office. Lahu Jadhav called him and told him not to chat with the girl and called him for a meeting at Kharadi. When the complainant went to Kharadi, Lahu and Mahesh sat in his car.
They told him that they had screen shots of the chat between the complainant and the girl. They said Lahu Jadhav is a ‘bhai’ and it is his responsibility to safeguard Marathi girls and Lahu took him to a hotel. He took Rs 17,000 from him via PhonePe. He beat up the complainant. They took the car key of the complainant and did some shopping by using his credit card. Later, they took him to Kopargaon. The complainant was locked up in a room and he told them he wanted to use the toilet. He escaped by evading his captors. He went to the Shirdi police station and lodged a complaint. The police arrested three people and handed him over to the Pune police. PSI Dalvi is investigating the case.
