Pune – Couple attempts suicide after Laxmi Puja

Pune : NPnews24- A couple jumped into the canal near Sarasbaug and tried to commit suicide after Laxmi Puja on Wednesday Diwali night. After getting information Fire Brigade personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the couple identified as Pradeep Shendge and Kanchan Shendge.

The incident took place around 11 pm. There was some dispute between the couple and after argument the woman jumped into the canal. Pradeep followed her and he too jumped. However, they caught hold of tree in the canal and survived the heavy water flow. They were taken out with the help of rope by the Fire Brigade. Pune Police is investigating further in this regard.
