Pune: Businessman Gautam Pashankar disappears mysteriously from Shivajinagar; Family, police launch search

Pune: Renowned businessman and Chairman of Pashankar Auto, Gautam Vishwanand Pashankar (65) has mysteriously disappeared from Shivajinagar area on Wednesday (October 21) evening. Family members of Gautam Pashankar have launched a ‘missing person’ complaint at the Shivajinagar police station. Sources say, Gautam Pashankar had given an envelope to his car driver in which a suicide note was found.

The Pashankar family has appealed to citizens to inform the whereabouts of Gautam Pashankar on his son Kapil’s phone number 9822474747 or Shivajinagar police station on 020-25536263.

Gautam Pashankar resides at the Modi Baug area in Shivajinagar. He had gone to his family-owned gas agency in Loni Kalbhor on Wednesday afternoon. He had returned to his office on Jangli Maharaj Road at around 4pm. Gautam Pashankar had then sent his car driver to Panshet for some work. He later went to the LIC office on Ganeshkhind Road from where he has mysteriously disappeared.

Gautam Pashankar’s car driver tried to call him on the mobile phone, but Pashankar did not respond. The driver then informed about it to Pashankar’s son Kapil. The Pashankar family immediately tried to locate him, but they could not. Hence the family members headed straight to the Shivajinagar police station and lodged a missing person report.

Gautam Pashankar has reportedly said in the suicide note that he has suffered huge financial loss and hence he is ending his life. However, family members said that there was no family dispute or any financial stress or illness. Gautam Pashankar did not carry his phone along on Wednesday. Pune Police have launched a search and have shared photos and information about Gautam Pashankar with all police stations. CCTV footages of all locations visited by Pashankar are also being checked. Police Sub-Inspector Prakash Mulale from Shivajinagar police station is investigating the case.
