Pune: Brutal Murder Unfolds! Young Man Beaten to Death in Bibvewadi Over Love Affair

Pune: A harrowing incident has emerged from the streets of Bibvewadi, where a young man meeting his married girlfriend was brutally attacked and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The tragic event unfolded on December 2, 2023, around noon near the Cricket Ground and Nilsagar Society. Police investigations have led to the registration of a case against the woman’s husband and a few minor accomplices.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Sangram Hanumant Salunke, hailing from Vadkenagar, Baramati, fell prey to the heinous assault. The case, lodged under IPC sections 364, 302, 143, 147, and 149, implicates Nitin Renuse, Aditya Gawli, and Aniket Chavan, along with two minor accomplices. Police sub-inspector Shashank Jadhav filed a formal complaint at the Bibvewadi police station, noting that the minors had previous criminal records.

According to police reports, Sangram Salunke had a romantic relationship with a married woman residing in the Ambegaon Plateau area of Dhankawadi. The illicit affair did not escape the notice of the woman’s husband, Nitin Renuse, who learned of Sangram’s visit to Pune to meet his wife.

On December 2, Sangram arrived at the Kia service centre in Bibvewadi, unaware of the impending danger lurking behind him. The accused, tracing him, intercepted Sangram and took him to a secluded area near a gas godown in Upper Indiranagar. There, they subjected him to a vicious assault before abandoning him and fleeing the scene.

Sangram’s critical condition prompted a swift response from law enforcement, who rushed to the scene upon receiving reports of the incident. Despite efforts to save him, Sangram succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Initially mistaken for a sudden death, the true nature of Sangram’s demise was revealed through a comprehensive medical examination, which confirmed fatal injuries resulting from the savage beating. Subsequent investigations unearthed the gruesome details of the assault, leading authorities to reclassify the case as a murder.

Assistant Police Inspector Nikumbh is spearheading the ongoing investigation.
