Pune: 45 days old child snatched away from mother

NPnews24 Online Pune: A 45-day-old boy from a homeless family that was sleeping near Baba Bhide Bridge along the Mutha riverbed, was kidnapped around 2.30am on Wednesday. An FIR has been registered with Deccan Gymkhana police against five persons.

According to police, the boy Rohit Chand is the firstborn of Rangeela and Chand Chavan. They are balloon sellers who sleep on the footpath.

The boy’s mother was offered money by same group of men as one of them didn’t have any child. Police said that the kidnappers came on bikes and they spoke fluent Marathi.

Police have booked the unidentified kidnappers for offence under section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act. Police are searching for the accused persons with the help of CCTV footages and sketches of the accused persons.
