Pune: 26 persons rescued from building on fire

Npnews24 Online Pune: The officials from the Pune Fire Brigade on Thursday morning rescued 26 persons who were trapped in building which had caught fire.

The incident took place at Joshi Sankul located in the lane opposite Prabhat Talkies, in Mehunapura locality of Shaniwar Peth. The building has some shops as well as residential flats.

The fire began in a godown of medical equipments located on the first floor of the five-storied building. The fire had begun around 8.45 am. Due to smoke people were having difficulty in breathing. Many people had fled to the terrace of the building.

As soon as Fire Brigade received information, a team led by officers Vijay Bhilare and Rajesh Jagtap rushed to the spot and rescued the people.
