Preparation To Answer China! Indian Warship Undertakes Refueling With US Navy Tanker in Arabian Sea

New Delhi : The hallmark of the growing defense relationship between India and the US was seen in the Arabian Sea on Monday when an Indian Navy warship took fuel from a US Navy tanker. According to the defense agreement between the two countries, both countries will work in close coordination with each other and will also use each other’s base. Under these provisions, on Monday, Indian warship INS Talwar refueled in the North Arabian Sea using the provisions of a defense agreement with US Navy tanker USNS Yukon.

Giving detailed information about this, an Indian Navy spokesperson tweeted, “INS Talwar on Mission Based Deployment in Northern Arabian Sea undertook refueling with US Navy Fleet Tanker USNS Yukon under LEMOA (1/2)” This move of both the armies enables the presence of increasing maritime security.

India and the United States signed the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) to strengthen the armies of both countries in the sea region. This agreement was signed in 2016. Under this, the Indian and US forces can use each other’s military airports and seaports. After this agreement, the defense cooperation of both countries has been greatly strengthened. India has signed similar agreements with France, Singapore, Australia and Japan.
