Policeman arrested for molesting minor girl whom he went to drop home

PUNE NP NEWS NETWORK – Police is for protecting people and not exploiting them. But an incident has left Pune city police red faced after a constable of Mundhwa police station allegedly molested minor girl.

The policeman Vikas Musle had offered to drop her home when she was found with her male near Tadigutta chowk on November 27.

As per the FIR registered with Mundhwa police station, the incident took place between 1 am and 2.25 am. The girl was walking with her 21-year-old friend when a team of policemen who were on patrolling duty intercepted them. The cops questioned them for walking so late in the night and threatened to inform her parents. However she pleaded for not telling her parents. After that the cops offered to drop her home.

The police van stopped outside her society gate and constable Musle went to drop her home, while other policemen and her friend remained in the van. The policeman allegedly molested her near the lift and asked her to tell anyone about it, else threatened her of dire consequences.

After the girl lodged complaint, an FIR was registered against Musle for offence under section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A special court remanded him to one day police custody.
