Police sub-inspector caught taking Rs 10,000 bribe in a bank account
Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Sleuths from the anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune unit, on Wednesday nabbed a reserve police sub-inspector of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Pune, for allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe in the bank account.
The accused PSI Dnyandev Sopan Barbole (52) is posted with the GRP headquarters on Aundh-Khadki road. On his instruction, the bribe money was deposited by the complainant in the bank account of head constable Qazi.

According to ACB, the complainant is a tailor. Someone has made an anonymous complaint against him to GRP officials, who have sought a report from PSI Barbole, who is the reserve PSI at the headquarters. In order to give the positive report, Barbole allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 bribe and asked the complainant to deposit the amount in head constable Qazi’s account.

The complainant approached the ACB officials who verified the complaint and then arrested the accused after the amount was deposited.
Now an FIR has been registered against the accused persons with Khadki police station for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The action was taken by a team led by Police inspectors Sanjay Patange, Ghanshyam Balap under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (ACB, Pune range) Sandip Diwan.
The ACB has appealed people to contact them if any government employee demands the bribe for any work. People can also contact the ACB on toll-free number 1064 or on 020-26122134, 020-26132802. They can also visit the ACB office located in Central Building, opposite Sassoon General Hospital.
