Police seize 105 sickles from a shopkeeper in Bohri Ali

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News |  The sickle is a sharp weapon that has become infamous due to its increasing use in a number of cases of terrorising and looting on the streets in the city. As part of its crackdown on its misuse and illegal sale, the police have now railed shops of sickle sellers. A team of Pune Police Crime Branch raided a shop in Bhori Ali, 105 sickles kept for sale were seized from the shop. (Pune Crime News)

Many minors, youths are using the sickle as a weapon to spread terror and establish supremacy in their areas. There is an increase in the number of attacks on passersby during rush hours. Cases of extortion by threatening people with the sickle are rising. The sickle is used as a weapon in all these crimes.

Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar had raised the issue of sickle gangs in Pune in the Legislative Assembly. The police took action against these criminals. As a part of this drive, 105 sickles have been seized by raiding the shop selling them so that these sickles will not become available to criminals.
