Platform ticket charge reduced to Rs 10 from Rs 50 at Pune railway station
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune railway station | The railway administration, which had increased the platform ticket rate to Rs 50 to curb crowding of platforms in the wake of pandemic from January 17 to February 15, restored the original platform charge of Rs 10 from Tuesday.
However, the original rate of Rs 10 has been restored from February 1, earlier than the scheduled date.
Giving details about their decision, railway officials said citizens faced issues due to the increased rate. People had to stand in long queues to buy tickets due to less number of windows issuing the platform ticket. Hence, the administration decided to restore the original rate.
The third wave of pandemic is ebbing in Pune. The increased rate of platform tickets was meant to curb crowds on railway station. Citizens had protested the rate hike.
