BJP corporator and former Pimpri Chinchwad deputy mayor Keshav Gholve, two others held for extortion

Pimpri : NpNews24 Online –  Corporator Keshav Gholve | The Pimpri police arrested former Pimpri Chinchwad deputy mayor and corporator Keshav Gholve and two others for collecting ransoms from shopkeepers from the cloth market in Pimpri.

The action was taken on Tuesday midnight. According to details provided by the police, it was learnt that some people were collecting money telling shopkeepers that NCP corporator and former deputy mayor Dabbu Aswani had instructed them to do so. Many traders then contacted Aswani, who was shocked to hear this. He immediately submitted a written complaint to CP Krishna Prakash. Investigation in the case started. Later, the police arrested three, including Keshav Gholve and Guddu Yadav.

It is said the extortion ran into lakhs of rupees. The exact amount will be known after the investigation.

The Pimpri police are investigating further.
