Pimpri Chinchwad Police Nabs Armed Suspect: Seizes Illegal Pistol and Live Cartridge

 

Pimpri Chinchwad: On Wednesday, January 24, the anti-robbery squad of Pimpri Chinchwad police station apprehended a young man carrying a pistol without an appropriate license. Accordingly, police seized one pistol and one live cartridge worth Rs 41 thousand from him.

This action was taken on Wednesday, January 24, near a hotel in Alandi Ghat at around 10:00 p.m. Police informed that they got information about the presence of a suspicious person near Paytha Hotel on the road leading to Chakan in Alandi Ghat.

Upon receiving the information, one team of the anti-robbery squad of Pimpri Chinchwad police immediately rushed to the location and detained the 30-year-old accused, Virabhadra Raghunath Devadnya, for carrying a pistol and one live cartridge without a proper licence.

Police informed that the accused, Virabhadra Devadnya, is a resident of Kelgaon Road, Devachi Alandi. Upon further investigation, the accused revealed that he bought the pistol from two people, namely, Rahul Sarjan and Amol Salve.

Accordingly, police constable Sumit Dattatray Devkar filed a complaint against Virbhadra Devadnya, Rahul Sarjan, and Amol Salve under the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Bharat Gosavi of the Anti-Robbery Squad.
