Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate gets 1 Add CP, 2 DCPs

The state government on Friday transferred several police officers.

The proposed Pimpri Chinchwad police Commissionerate has got three new officers. Thane additional commissioner of police Makarand Ranade will join here as the first add CP of Pimpri Chinchwad.

Also Vinayak Dhakne (DCP, Aurangabad) and Namrata Patil (Assistant IG (planning), Police Headquarters), will join as DCPs in Pimpri Chinchwad commissionerate.

In April this year, the state cabinet had approaved setting up of the Pimpri Chinchwad police Commissionerate at an expenditure of Rs 323 crore. The commissionerate will cover a population of 22-23 lakh, including 4-5 lakh from the rural areas around the twin industrial township.

The Pune-Mumbai expressway, Pune-Mumbai highway, Pune-Nashik highway and Katraj-Dehu Road bypass will fall under the jurisdiction of the new police commissionerate which will cover 625 sq km area and there will be 4840 police personnel.
