Pilgrims limit increased from 5000 to 7000 to visit Mata Vaishno Devi, know details ‘here’

Srinagar: All across the country Unlock 5.0 have been implemented under which major public spaces are opened. The states are given authority to implement Unlock 5.0 as per the conditions prevailing in respective states. The permissions are also issued in Kashmir to open schools, colleges and temples. The limit of pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi temple has been increased from 5000 per day to 7000. Along with that the permission to open cinema halls, bars, coaching centers in the state is also granted.

Jammu and Kashmir government secretary Simrandeep Singh said, some cinema halls, bars and coaching centers are reopening from tomorrow and few more will open October 15 onwards. The strength of pilgrims will be decided by the CEO of the Shrine Board- How many of these pilgrims will come from Jammu and Kashmir and how many from other states.

Simrandeep Singh pointed out, “The limit of pilgrims to visit Mata Vaishno Devi temple has been increased from 5000 to 7000 per day. It will be decided by the CEO of the Shrine Board how many of these pilgrims will come from Jammu and Kashmir and how many will come from outside the union territories. The Inter-State / UT pass required to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi temple is not required anymore. Online registration of the journey will continue as before. After reviewing the situation, the CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will decide to start the palanquin service and the number of passengers coming from outside”.

Earlier, testing was mandatory for people traveling from Red to Orange zones in the union territories. As now all areas are orange, so there is no need of testing for movement in the area. However, in case of passengers coming from other states by plane, train and road will continue to take tests as before.

Ø  Special rules for visiting the temple

·         Children younger than 3 years and senior citizens above 65 years of age will not be allowed to travel.

·         Corona suspects will have to undergo health screening.
