Why Petrol Prices are Increasing Rapidly
Experts say that there has been a sharp fall in the prices of crude oil internationally. But in the domestic market, the prices of petrol and diesel are continuously increasing. Increase in excise duty is the reason behind this. After March 14, there was no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for the customers. But due to crude oil being very cheap in the international market, the government had decided to increase the excise duty on that price.

Excise duty on petrol has increased by 10 rupees and on diesel by 13 rupees. Although this increase had no effect on the customers, but the government has definitely started earning big from this increase. After this increase, the total excise duty on petrol increased to Rs 32.98 per liter and on diesel to Rs 31.83 per liter.
