Permanent ‘work from home’ possible, new guidelines issued

New Delhi : The concept of ‘work from home’ saved millions during the corona epidemic. Now it is time to make this concept permanently available for the IT industry. This will be possible due to the new guidelines of the Department of Telecommunications.

The concept of ‘work from home’ revived many areas. Companies and employees in the technology sector benefited greatly. These companies have been relieved by the Department of Telecommunications. The registration process required in the guidelines for other service providers has been canceled.

Also, the BPO sector with data related work has been excluded from the scope of OSP. In addition, bank guarantee, static IP, network diagram, etc. are no longer required. Also, other terms that were problematic in the concept of ‘work from home’ and ‘work from anywhere’ have also been repealed.

Temporary provisions were made for ‘work from home’ during the corona epidemic. A group of ministers was appointed for permanent implementation. The recommendations were made by the Group of Ministers in coordination with the Ministry of Telecommunications, Labor and Commerce. The government’s decision has been welcomed by companies in the information technology and BPO sectors, including Nasscom. It was suggested that rural areas would benefit from job creation.

It was difficult for women
During the lockdown, women were under a lot of stress from home as well as office work. Work from home has made it difficult for women to combine both home and office tasks. After the unlock, the percentage of employment began to rise slowly. However, the proportion of women is less than before. Therefore, even in the concept of ‘work from home’, statistics show that women have less opportunity to work.
