People follow not so good actors because of their social media: Shubhaavi  

Np News 24 Mumbai: Social media has a big sway in an actor’s life today, said TV actress Shubhaavi Choksey.  The actor, who plays Anurag Basu’s mother Mohni in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, says that even if you are average on screen, a good social media page can get you a lot of fans today.

The actress added that the medium has its upsides and downsides. “It’s great, social media has got its pros and cons. It’s a nice way of showing how you are, it’s also a way of portraying how you are not, so there are pros and cons to this. For example, when I got married and I went to Dubai, I had no idea about my school and college friends. But thanks to Facebook, I was connected to them, despite me not coming and meeting them in India. I was still in touch with them,” she further added.

“It is an addiction too. I was talking to one of my friends and she told me how she is continuously on Instagram, that’s what Facebook was for me when I had got married. But over the years, I feel I have so much to do apart from being there on social media. I have so many things to do as a mother, homemaker and now as a working woman that I don’t get that much of time. But yes, social media is an addiction to a lot of people,” the actor said.
