Passengers from Maharashtra no longer need negative RT-PCR report at Delhi airport

Mumbai : New Covid19 guideline frees air travellers from Maharashtra from mandatory negative RT-PCR test result when they land at Delhi Airport. Airline officials have confirmed the same. Earlier, those arriving at Delhi from Covid-hit states, mainly from Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, were required to carry a latest RT-PCR report.

As reported by a newspaper, latest guidelines suggest that RT-PCR report is not required for domestic arrivals from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The RT-PCR negative report was made mandatory for people travelling from Maharashtra from April 2021 as Covid-19 cases in the state increased. The rule stated that the RT-PCR test report should not be older than 72 hours before departure. Flyers who did not carry a negative report were required to undergo 14-day quarantine.

The same has been confirmed by the Air Vistara and SpiceJet confirmed on their social media handles.
