Part of building collapses in Ghorpade Peth
NPnews24 Online Pune: The part of a building collapsed in Ghorpade Peth area of Pune around midnight. The officials of the Fire Brigade Department informed that no casualties have been reported in the incident.
The officials said that a part of the three-storeyed building at Nashbhushan Chowk in Ghorpade Peth had collapsed last night around 1.30 pm.
According to the information given by the officials, a part of the three-storeyed building at Rashtra Bhushan Chowk at Ghorpade Peth collapsed at around 11.30 pm on Sunday.Within minutes after the incident was reported, the fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. There were seven families living on the third floor of the building.
The families were rescued and brought down from the building by the fire brigade. The building has an old wooden and mud structure. Hence, some part of the building collapsed due to heavy rains in the past few days in the city.
The fridge brigade officials said that Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) authorities will come and inspect the dangerous condition of the building.
