BioCNG can be produced from practically any biomass such as rice straw, wheat straw, maize straw, soya trash, bagasse besides all types of grass including bamboo.

He further observed that such biomass is available in plenty all over the country, and today it is been burnt thus creating a huge air pollution problem. He asked the innovators to come to the North East to set up plants in a big way, as there was plenty of bamboo available in the North Eastern region. This technology will result in generating employment opportunities in rural areas and increase the income of the farmers, he added.
