Oxford Vaccine : Pune Based Serum Institute Will Make 300 Million Doses By December – Adar Poonawala

Pune: The greatest hope in preventing the Coronavirus epidemic has come from the Oxford University vaccine. Human trials are going on this vaccine and better results have been revealed in the trial. The Oxford University vaccine will be produced in India too.

Andrew Pollard said that antibody response shows that this vaccine is very effective. He said that despite the success of the trial, now we need proof that this vaccine can prevent Coronavirus. Pollard said that now the trial of this vaccine will be done on different people and an assessment will be made of what the effect is on other people.

He said that it would be a big challenge to make a vaccine during the COVID epidemic and supply it to the whole world. Adar Poonawala said that we do not see vaccine making as a competition but as a collective effort. We also share our experiences with people engaged in research on COVID in other countries of the world.

At the same time, Adar Poonawala, CEO of Pune-based Serum Institute of India, who is going to produce this vaccine in India, said that we are going to produce this vaccine in a big way and this week we are going to take permission for the vaccine. Poonawala said that by December we will be able to make 300-400 million doses of Oxford vaccine.
