One dead in a road accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Pune: One person was killed and another seriously injured when an unidentified vehicle hit a car on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Thursday (February 18). The injured person is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Danane (30). His friend Siddhesh Patil was injured in the accident.

According to information received, Rahul and Siddhesh from Andheri were traveling from Pune to Mumbai in a Toyota Qualis. An unidentified speeding vehicle hit their car and Rahul died in the accident.

Highway police and IB patrolling personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. They rushed the injured Siddhesh Patil to the hospital for treatment. Police conducted a post-mortem at the spot and sent the body to a government hospital for autopsy. An unidentified vehicle is being searched based on a CCTV camera on the highway.
