On loud TV sound, man commits suicide in Chinchwad

A 41-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after increasing volume of the TV at his house in Chinchwad. The incident took place on Wednesday night.

Police have identified the deceased as Umesh Mahadev Shinde, a resident of Shivnagari in Balajinagar, Chinchwad.

According to police, his wife and children were chatting outside while he was in the room alone. He increased the volume of the television, locked the door from inside and then hanged himself from the ceiling fan. When his family members found him hanging, they rushed him to YCM Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police said that Shinde was unemployed for the last several months. However, the reason behind his extreme step is yet to be ascertained, police said.
