Nirbhaya’s Mother Broke into Tears in Court Over the Delay in Getting the Culprits Hanged

New Delhi: Nirbhaya’s parents heard the petition filed in the Patiala House Court in Delhi on Wednesday for issuing a new death warrant in the Nirbhaya case. The court will now hold the next hearing on this matter on Thursday. The court said that the father of convict Pawan will get legal aid from the court on Thursday after which the case will be heard.

During the hearing earlier, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi broke into cry in the court. She asked the court, ‘what about my rights? I am also a human being. I am pleading for justice with folded hands. Please issue death warrant to the culprits. It’s been more than 7 years.’

Nirbhaya’s father also got emotional and said in court that ‘Injustice is being done to Nirbhaya. Your duty is to not let anyone be unjust.’

On this, the judge said that ‘You sit down. It is my duty to give legal aid to the one who is eligible.’

On Tuesday, Tihar jail officials had filed a status report in the lower court, saying that no convict had chosen any legal option in the last seven days, which was given to him by the Delhi High Court. These four convicts include the names of Mukesh Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Kumar Sharma and Akshay Kumar.
