Nirbhaya Case: President Dismisses Mercy Plea of convict Pawan

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind today dismissed the mercy plea of convict Pawan in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case. However, a new death warrant has not been issued yet. Due to which the date of hanging has not yet been revealed. Earlier, the hanging of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape case was stayed by the Patiala House Court till further orders.

According to the old death warrant, all the culprits were to be hanged at 6 am on March 3. It has been postponed after the court’s decision. According to the information, Patiala House Court had said filing the plea of convict Pawan that his mercy petition was pending with the President, so the culprits were not hanged on 3 March.
