Nirbhaya Case : Family of Convicts Demands Euthanasia from President

New Delhi : npnews24 : The family of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case have sought ‘Mercy Death’ (Euthanasia) from President Ramnath Kovind. A total of 13 people have written letters to the President. 2 of Mukesh’s family, 4 members of Pawan-Vinay’s family and 3 members of Akshay’s family have written letters.

The family of the four convicts in the application says, “President, you have rejected the mercy petition of our sons, now also accept our death plea and recommend our death to Nirbhaya’s mother, father and brothers.” The family of the four convicts says that they have been dying since seven and a half years. Nobody is ready to marry their daughters and their children too will not have the courage to face the society when they grow up.

The four convicts of Mukesh, Pawan, Vinay and Akshay, who raped and murdered Nirbhaya in 2012, will be hanged together at 5.30 am on 20 March. After the new death warrant was issued, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi said that it was expected that it would be the last date and that they would be hanged on March 20. My fight will continue until they are hanged. The morning of March 20 will be the morning of life for us. Asha Devi said that before dying, Nirbhaya had taken the promise that these 4 should get such punishment that such heinous crime will not happen again to any girl. If given a chance, I would like to see them die.
