Nine members of Hindu Rashtra Sena sentenced to life imprisonment in Prakash Gondhale murder case

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | In the Prakash Anna Gondhale murder case, nine members of the Hindu Rashtra Sena (HRS) have been sentenced to life imprisonment till death. The judgment was delivered by Sessions Judge KP Nandedkar. (Pune Crime News)

 

Convicted HRS activists have been identified as Vicky Jadhav, Vaibhav Bhadale, Akshay Ingulkar, Srikant Atole, Amol Shedge, Rahul Kaule, Vicky Patil, Suraj Phadke and Akash Shinde. They have been sentenced to 2 years under sections 302 and 506(2) of the IPC, 6 months under the provisions of Penal Section 7 and a fine of Rs 20,000 for each accused. The order has said that the accused should pay Rs 1.50 lakh to the family of Prakash Gondhale.

 

In June 2013, HRS activists attacked the home of Prakash Gondhale. The door was burnt throwing petrol. In this regard, Prakash Gondhale lodged a complaint at Hadapsar Police Station. Even after repeated follow-ups, the attackers were not arrested. On July 8, 2013, around 10:30 pm, Gondhale was going home. The accused stopped and killed him with sickles.

 

Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam was appointed in the case. A total of 19 witnesses were examined by the judge during the trial. The accused have been sentenced to life imprisonment till death.
